Please note: Immersed currently doesn't support input audio from the headset into the video conferencing call. Enabling your sound input on your computer to go through your computer or headphones will solve this. If you'd like for others on your video-conferencing call to see your avatar speak your headset mic must not be muted.
Follow these steps to get Immersed Webcam installed:
- After you install the Immersed Agent AND enter your Secure Pairing Code, the webcam driver should install.
- Restart your computer.
- Follow the steps for the video-conferencing product you’re trying to use:
Google Hangouts, Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams.
Linux Installation
We use vl42loopback to achieve virtual camera on linux.
Please install the package “v4l2loopback-dkms” for Debian, or appropriate one in other distributions.
Then please run the command before launch Immersed.
$ sudo modprobe v4l2loopback
After the command, please check your video device is generated at /dev/video0 (or other numbers if video0 was used already. That case, please write your device path for “CameraDevice” in ~/.ImmersedConf file.).
You can connect your VR avatar to pretty much any web-conferencing tool if you fidget with it enough.
